About Us

Royal Steel is a World of Warcraft guild on the Argent Dawn server. We are comprised of mature members who enjoy online gaming. The founders of the guild share a deep love of pulp fantasy, and this guild is shamelessly inspired by swashbuckling heroism of stories such as Alexandre Dumas' The Three Musketeers.

Guild Goals

Our primary goal is simply to have fun in World of Warcraft. Guild policies will be crafted to promote a casual and mature membership. We have no intention of becoming a "power" guild. Royal Steel has a target guild size of 55-60 active members. This number was chosen so the guild would remain vibrant and active, yet not too large and impersonal.

We understand that real life comes before gaming, and no pressure will be put on members to advance. No member shall be punished for inactivity or pushed to do things they do not enjoy.

The officers of the guild will attempt to accommodate member wishes as best possible, assuming new policies conform to the above goals.

Member Conduct

Members are expected to treat other players with respect and courtesy at all times. Griefing of any player, even Horde, is strictly forbidden.

There will be no required in game meetings. Events are planned through the guild forums, therefore forum participation is highly encouraged.

Roleplaying & Guild Chat

In keeping with the Musketeer theme, the guild's in-character goal is to serve king and country. Well, kings and alliance.

Guild and party chat are not kept in-character. Roleplaying is encouraged in all other channels. The guild chat should be kept to game related topics. This includes lag, server downtimes, quests, etc. Topics such as the latest movie releases should be avoided.

Please use capitalization and complete sentences in chat. Leet and excessive IM speak will not be tolerated.

Leadership

Lieutenants decide guild policies and control admission to our ranks. The captain (guildmaster) is the leader of the lieutenants.

Sergeants are officers, acknowledged for extraordinary service to the guild. Service to the guild can come in many forms - leading groups, organizing events, and writing stories are just a few. Sergeants are promoted for two months at a time.
